That has become my go to as well Mem.
but that is not a Peak 1.. I still have one of those in the shed. I found one for sale on ebay https://www.ebay.com/i/202425045481?chn=ps
Mem has a Coleman Bottletop burner. Got one of those too. Very handy and does not raise TSA ire as my Sierra Zip did. Those bottles are available everywhere.
kicking around somewhere I've got a couple of ensolite pads that are about 6x6" and carved to fit the curve of the hull at the keel line. they worked great except for the odd panic when the wind decided to send them in the opposite direction to my route, of course with one hand on the paddle and one holding the coffee, grabbing it mid air was an exercise in futility.Any suggestions for a relatively spill-proof way to place a full cup of coffee in a canoe on calm water? I drink from a big ceramic mug (which I refill from a thermos-type container). I like to keep the mug of coffee down in front of me on the floor of the canoe where I can easily reach it. However, the mug wobbles a bit due to the shallow V-shaped chine. I haven’t spilled any coffee yet (not much, anyway), but I’m looking for a more stable way to hold that mug of coffee. Maybe some kind of canoe floor beanbag, or a gimbaled center-thwart holder of some kind?
