Carved a maple spoon for the cook kit.

Nice ! You would get a good Laugh at mine, that I carved while camping !

I burned mine when I was done using them

Ha! I've done that too- hard to get any lighter weight than that. I do that for tent stakes also.

Howard butcher block conditioner(mineral oil, beeswax and carauba wax).

Nice job on your spoon. I just finished up a couple of spoons for my graduating seniors. It's a tradition that began years ago and they still seem to enjoy it so I keep making them. I carve my spoons out of white cedar but I do like the maple. They always look so nice when oiled up.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time....be well.

That's extremely professional looking, especially if all you used was a knife and rocks. What tools did you use?

Love carving spoons, that one looks great!! Probably half of the one I carved so far ended up in the fire lol and the other half into friend's and family's hands!!

I made another spoon, this time out of cherry and with a built in pot lid lifter. Also, got one of those new little stainless Expedition Research camp grills, and a waxed cotton canvas bag by BrownDogPouchandBag for it. I always wanted a Purcell Trench grill, but was too cheap to spring for one and this little one is only around $15.
