Bird Management

When I stored the Grumman outside behind the garage I managed to keep the birds from nesting under it. I placed various items on the likely nesting sites, like the bottoms of the seats, to deny them any flat surfaces. Doing this worked well and allowed me to find a use for all the seemingly useless items I collect (like the cage from the front of a defunct fan - see my earlier post).

This is what I’m cleaning out on both ends and along sides (soffits) every day with a pitch fork (note highlighting).

OK, that might be a good place to pop rivet some hardware cloth or chicken wire. Maybe bend it from the vertical to the horizontal & use a fender washer to attach it?

Or you could try traps...



Found this poor little bird in a trap I'd set for mice in my carport/garage. I felt bad about it but never thought a bird would be the one to get caught.

Well there is active nest building all around our house so I went over to the neighbors to see how those rubber snakes are working out and I’m happy to report not a nest in sight. I guess they work. Next time I’m over I’ll take some pics of the location and snakes.
