Ahoy there.
Thanks for the add to the group.
My guiding star and I have nearly got the kids off the payroll, so we are looking to spend more time on the water, and more time learning to build and paddle.

We have been back country tripping with the kids, mostly in Ontario for about 15 years. Lately, we have slowed down to "front country" tripping along more southern routes, where a hotel and a hot meal await at the end of the day.

We are seriously considering building a cedar stripper as our winter project, so we're here to learn about that .

Looking forward to sharing and learning from y'all.

Welcome aboard. Lots of builders here and they'll lend opinions / assistance if you ask (and, sometimes, if you don't lol).

Strippers really are great projects and they're not hard to do. Primarily a test of patience.

Start a build thread, update progress when you can and I'm sure you'll get lots of input. Just be aware that building can be addictive so you may want to build extra canoe storage as well.

Ahoy Dave, I'm a Hammer kid who often wanders into the big smoke for family matters (because they matter).
While kids-in-tow tripping was a cool and fun lifestyle, being empty-nesters certainly has it's merits too. And if you can rope the grown kid(s) into the occasional trip that can be a brave new world also.

Not in the hammer, but I'm only a few miles down the road from you, and your name sounds awfully familiar too- welcome to the family!
