I enjoyed going through this thread, though it’s a couple years old, and thought I’d post a photo of my Loba in my 1910 Kennebec…We’re not sure of her age, but she’s been living with us for about six years, has a lot of shepherd in her blood, and absolutely loves canoes…she’s very well behaved...

That is a 1993 Tom MacKenzie made Loonworks 15’ Mistral…a wonderful lightweight solo tripper…

I visited Boreas Ponds and Henderson Lake last September and each offered an extraordinary day paddle experience. I had my dog with me and wasn’t sure how she’d react to a camping experience, so we stayed at a nearby yurt in North Hudson, which I found on Airbnb. It was about 40 minutes away...

Despite some past experiences on crowded, noisy, trash-laden lakes leading to some irritation and resentment, I do appreciate the change in perspective...I am grateful to have a canoe and water nearby in which to paddle it...
