    Puzzle lake, Ontario

Hi Folks, I have been planning trips for this year but unfortunately ill family members have been a priority for the early summer. I buried an Aunt last Saturday and here in Canada we had a long weekend so I headed out on a one night trip to an area called Puzzle Lake Provincial Park in...

    Indiana Day Trip

No Title Hi Slippery Pete Love your pictures and your dog looks like a gentle soul. I just bought my first canoe last week and finally managed to get it wet twice over the past week. I am looking forward to building memories but I might have a hard time persuading the cat to come along. I am...

    Wet suits?

Thanks for all of the feedback. Just want to say that in my original post I mentioned paddling in the snow. Well that was unintentional but I would like to paddle as early and as late as possible but don't want to be breaking ice! I do know how to keep warm out doors, I know how to dress but, if...

    Hi, I'm John from Ontario

Last year we had a trip planned. My buddy and his Dad. I planned my whole summer around this trip. I mean my WHOLE summer! His Dad pulled out with 2 days to go and my buddy only really wanted to go because of his Dad. To say I was pissed off would be an understatement. I have reached that point...

    Hi, I'm John from Ontario

Don't get me wrong, I would like to find like minded people to travel with but honestly most people I know think I'm plain crazy to want to spend a night in a tent or hammock let alone drag a canoe through a bogy marsh fighting off mosquitos and filtering water to get there. WHATS WRONG WITH ME...

    Wet suits?

Ok, dry suite. I guess that makes sense. I'm wondering if anybody has a reason to wear neither?

    Wet suits?

To buy or not to buy? I have never even worn a wet suit but I would like some advice. I am fairly new to canoe tripping but I have paddled in fairly cold tempatures, in other words in the snow. So should I invest in a wet suite? Just in case?

    Hi, I'm John from Ontario

Hi Sturgeon, I hope the Tranquility is all that I want. I chose it for the light weight, it's Canadian made and I Believe that the people at Souris are genuine. Oh and so far as Kevlar goes I think they look great. I hate portaging. I made my first portage about 6 years ago. A real short one...

Hey, I'm new to this forum and also a keen woodworker. You are a very lucky man. You will make a full recovery and might even laugh about it one day. Just don't do it again!

    Hi, I'm John from Ontario

Thanks for the welcomes. I am very lucky to live where I live. Havelock is a great place. I would love to live in Bancroft but not much for work up there. One day............

    Hi, I'm John from Ontario

Hi, my name is John. I live in Ontario about 2 hrs east of Toronto in a town called Campbellford. I have been interested in canoeing for some years but due to work and my circumstances it has been very hard to get involved. During the last few years I have rented and had a few solo trips into...
