    I enjoyed going through this thread, though it’s a couple years old, and thought I’d post a photo of my Loba in my 1910 Kennebec…We’re not sure of her age, but she’s been living with us for about six years, has a lot of shepherd in her blood, and absolutely loves canoes…she’s very well behaved...

    Those are hooks for me to use either a removable kneeling thwart or a full seat. It’s rigged quite nicely for those options. I rarely use either though, as I prefer to kneel over a stuff sack. Here it is with one of Tom Seavey’s “Saddle Seats”: Here is the removable seat: And here it is...
