When I built my stitch and glue Eureka 155 (actually making it a 145), I just cut 6" off each center, essentially removing a foot from the middle of the design... It worked. If I were to tamper with a stripper, I'd ask here, as you have done.

I used a friend's 2L system on a trip to NC a few months back, came home, and bought one... I like Aqua Mira's 3oz... I like Polar Pure's 5oz and ease of use. I'm sold on Platy's 7oz and ease of use.. running water for 7oz? this is a no brainer.

I've rigged a tumpline across ribs like that, just to make a 'kneeling thwart'... works ok, but it sagged a bit; maybe i need buckles to get it tight enough; I was using girth hitches.

Boreal Birch Found this, later.... it's my mods to the Whelen Shelter Cloth, with the longer sides that are the same proportions as those of the LeanTo. I normally keep all my 'plans' together, but found this one in a folder of photos from the build thread.... I need to put it back!

Something I rigged up based on the Whelen "Shelter Cloth" (7' x 6', iirc) but with a Whelen Lean-to-Type overhang and sides (proportions on the sides are just scaled down from the original 7x6 isosceles triangles). Weighs 2.5lbs, and fits just about right... I also built a full sized Whelen...

You might consider it sacrilege, but I use a Luci Light (solar LED, hi/low/blinker) suspended from a loop in the middle of my tarp. the low beam, 2' or so off the ground, makes for 'not too bright' reading... generally i sleep well, but it's handy to just reach up and flip it on in the middle...
