New to me, canoe gun

It's been a while since I heard about the Savage 24. I had one back around 1968. It was 222/20ga that I got for turkey.
Problem was you couldn't hit the broad side of the barn with it. It just shot everywhere so I pawned it for something else. Although it was a nice handling gun.
