I had some snowshoe hares in the yard that were showing signs of turning back to their summer coats. I also made it up the driveway in two wheel drive in March, that might be a first.

Yes, No.. Yes today.. Warmest its been for a while. 63F. Snow next week and highs about 32. Following week in the 40's. Blech. Cant get a sunny day either despite 3/17. how naive I was..
However the goldfinch hordes have arrived.. some bright yellow some not. The loons are late. We have heard one once. The red squirrels are out of hibernation and there is howling wind quite a bit.

Yellow-rumped warblers made it to Forest Lake, MN. Soon the white throated sparrows will be singing up the mornings before they too head to the north shore.

We've been getting flocks of sandhill cranes flying overhead northbound for the past week.
We have a lot more birds now but the real sign of spring here is, my wife has taken over the dining room many with trays of Native Perennial Pollinators, complete with new shelving and grow lights
