Zoom Seminar - Mike Elliot, Author of This Old Canoe

Bit last minute, but there is a online ZOOM seminar tonight (Jan 17) at 7pm Eastern Time hosted by the Northern Lakes (Canada) Chapter of the WCHA. After a brief 10 minute discussion of our chapter business, we will be joined by special guest Mike Elliot, author of This Old Canoe.



Mike will be giving a talk on the restoration of a vintage Old Town sailing canoe with sponsons. Might be of interest to those here who are interested in wood-canvas construction and repair.

@Murat V, I really wanted to join the zoom but got sidetracked with a bunch of WCHA business. Was the talk recorded for later viewing?

Yes, it was recorded. MIke's talk was about restoring the rotted ends of an old sailing canoe and a little promotion about his new book about "This Fancy Old Canoe" coming out next summer. Otherwise it was chit-chat among members and a litle about canoeing events happening in southern Ontario. Interesting enough for me to stay to listen to the whole thing, because a neigbor friend of mine is a restorer.

We found out later that our zoom meeting was booked at the same time as the WCHA board meeting. Sorry for that. Alex Guthro, our Chapter Head, recorded the portion of Mike Elliot's presentation. Here is the link:
