    PFD For Dogs?

I've never taking a dog in a canoe, but have in a small sailboat. She always wore a PFD. Standard Poodles are water dogs, but with all the hair, that can weigh them down making swimming harder. Also getting them back in the boat is easier with a PFD on. Just my two cents.

I found that the trailer is only rated for speeds of 62mph or less. I verified this will Discount Tire.

Thanks Wanderer, I'll go with your advice for the Sportsrig. I like the idea of Aluminum but if something breaks, its easier to get steel welded over aluminum.

Experience with Yakima Trailer for Canoe Transport

My newer car can't use a roof rack but does have a trailer hitch. A lot of trailers out there but most are limited to 55 mph. I've looked at Yakima Rack and Roll but was told it was too light especially with a very light canoe and would be pushed around by semis. Also the canoe sits fairly...

    Hello from Jackson Michigan

Thanks devils son in law. Since this is my first boat, I'm still learning a lot about canoeing sticking to the smaller lakes. It will be a while before I venture into the rivers although looking at some smaller lakes in and around Grayling that are surrounding by State land. thanks again alan

    Hello from Jackson Michigan

Just started canoeing but been reading this forum and books to catch up. Spent last month in upstate New York picking up my new used Kestrel and the drive home was uneventful thank you much. I plan on checking out and fishing small lakes around home too small or remote for the bigger boats. I...

I really liked the Peregrine but my blue Kestrel is a better fit for my size. She really scoots.
