Canoecopia 2023

If you scroll down that linked page, you'll see (or at least I did) "virtual tickets" for $15. I think that is it.

I have attended the show for many years, every year from 1984 to 2019. Also worked at the show a number of times - I was always interested in talking to the vendors as we helped them setup. I was scheduled to work at the show in 2020 when it was cancelled at the last moment due to the pandemic. Won’t make it this year due to medical reasons.

My son and I will be there for the second time. We had a great time last year!

@billconner
I'm pretty sure I met you in the admissions line last year. Or, at least your double.

That's cheating.
Art with this miserable excuse of a winter we are having, skiing and snowshoeing are a dream.. Might as well go paddle! Ice in on my lake was Dec 19. Ice out was today Jan 4..
The winter of my discontent.

Eagerly looking forward to this. Just did one day last year but think I’ll do the full weekend this time around and attend some seminars.

I’m hoping the Canadian Mfg’ers attend this year. Would love to get some Nova Craft swag without having to pay the international shipping charges.

I used to go to see all the vender stuff and stock up on supplies … I was in gear / new stuff nirvana. That was in the beginning of my canoe tripping days. Now I go to the Copia show to listen to the seminars and visit with old friends I only see at the show, or in the bush on a trip. I enjoy it now more than those early days … seeing old tripping buddies - old vender friends - and talking, listening to all things canoeing helps to keep my wander lust fire lit.

Looks like Kevin Callan is gonna be there in person this year giving a few presentations.

Starts tomorrow and winter is giving this area another smackdown starting tonight.

5” of heavy wet stuff and another 2” Saturday. Shouldn’t be bad but all depends how on the ball the snowplows are. Last few snows they seemed to have already checked out for the season and many roads were left unplowed.

Hopefully this doesn’t adversely affect the show.

Those of you going, enjoy! I made it last year, had a lot of fun.....a couple of my buddies are headed up there today. I'm retiring in a couple of weeks and just have too much going on right now, just couldn't swing it.....hopefully next year! Did discover a newer brewery last year, five minutes from the host hotel......."Delta Beer Lab".....it's located in an industrial park.....good beer, fun place.....if you are so inclined...

Can’t believe how good of a time I had.

Wife and I stopped in on Friday, walked the floor a couple times. Was always tentative about Helinox chairs being too fragile. It was good to try them out since I’m not a particularly small guy. Ended up buying 2 chairs.

Stopped in on Saturday with my 15 yr old daughter. Walked the floor some more. Got caught in a long conversation with Swift Canoes…dang, now I’m really tempted. Thing is I don’t if you should paddle one of those canoes or hang them on a wall of an art gallery. We then did Rob Kesselring’s campfire talk seminar.

Did Sunday again with the wife. Did two Callan seminars and now the wife is actually interested in doing a Canadian trip. That’s cool. Hit the sales floor one last time in my quest for an otter tail paddle. Ended up coming home with a Badger Tripper.
