At what point does it become too windy for those canoes? With no keel, and the relatively narrow hull, I’d guess the are for light winds only.
At what point does it become too windy for those canoes?

ppine,My main style of sailing a canoe is to lash two boats together or with lines and have 2 bow people hold up a bed sheet.
We have made rooster tails running before the wind with such a configuration. Exhilarating and not really risky.
Reaching in a stiff wind seems like a huge challenge in a canoe.
Adding ballast is the key. They have no keel only lee boards.
I think a demonstration video is in order.
The Illusion is on my want list. I'd be curious as to what other hull you would best compare it to from a performance perspective.I'm trying to practice locally in my new Savage River Illusion to get more comfortable with its initial stability before going on a trip this weekend, but it's been too windy for my deteriorating semicircular canals. I did figure out how to set up my CCS tarp with five poles by myself in the wind, never having used only poles before. I'll post a picture in the tarp thread tomorrow.
