I don't visit there much anymore but I checked in today and the most recent post I can find is from September 9th. When I'd checked in a month or so ago there were regular postings at that time.
Out of curiosity, I tried to post to the general discussion forum in ccr, but couldn't. I just got a message "no post mode specified". So I assume there is some technical issue going on. I can access the forums and see all the posts that are there, but there are none from the last 16 days.
I've been in contact with the CCR web guy. The forums had a meltdown on the 9th. It seems the rest of the site is working fine and you can still access the forums just not create any new threads or post to existing ones. He did not give me any specific eta just assured me that they are working on a fix.
I'm not too surprised, the forum software they are using is old, really old in tech terms. More than a few times I have considered suggesting to them to switch to the system used here or at least some sort of forum software that is a little bit modern. Even before this outage the use of that board has dwindled due to this outdated software (at least partially).
There has been almost no updates to the site since the Wilderness Canoe Association took over from the original creator in 2007.
