We just got a new to us canoe and the boys and I have named it, The Turtle Glide. We are now wanting to put some vinyl decals with our new name/logo on it. Have any of you had experience with that? Where is the best place to order decals and what should I be looking for? Thanks for the help!

I don't know where to look but I think it will be pretty easy to find. I put vinyl decals on some of my canoes and at the time my mother was still teaching graphic design and had access to a vinyl cutter. It was just standard vinyl that we used and it's held up well.

I know there are a couple people in the area that do vinyl signs and I'm sure there are more that I don't know about. Not to mention online.

If you've already got a logo graphic set up, you do have a couple of options.

  1. Check your local print shop. Wherever local businesses get signage, flyers, etc. Often, they'll be able to do some vinyl stuff on the side.
  2. Do you have family or friends that are really into scrapbooking? Anyone with a Cricut (TM) or similar can cut adhesive vinyl. If your contact doesn't have one themselves, I guarantee one of their scrapbooking buddies does. There my be a bit of a size limit, but you'll have to determine whether that is an issue for you.
