Four of us just returned from a nice little backpacking trip in Quehanna. The foursome included my wife, father in law (78 years old) and our old, very experienced friend (81 years old). We kept the mileage pretty low at 16 miles over three days. We hiked 5.25 Monday, 6.75 Tuesday and the balance on Wednesday.
We had superb weather. It was unseasonably warm during the day with temps above 60 Fahrenheit and abundant sunshine. The first night got down to near freezing. Second night down to around 45. Except for a few pockets, all the snow had disappeared. Streams were running high. The wildlife highlight was frequent groups of snow geese whooshing overhead day and night. Our campsites were spectacular, as documented in photos.
