That's what the FUNctional Freestyle Workshop is about: Freestyle maneuvers with less flair. Messing around on small streams or in a swamp or marsh with a sport canoe can be a lot of fun and is typically easily accessible on short notice. It's not canoe tripping but can be quite satisfying.
