Solo canoe seat question

It's certainly a dilemma. Unless you also move the thwart, you're decreasing usable cargo volume too by moving the seat back. I've considered it for my Magic, seems like I'm always moving weight back and as my packs lighten, it gets harder to trim for Boges' fat butt.
