Interesting way to restore an old canoe.
I would be curious how much weight was added with the gel coats. Not my style, but they did a nice job.

Fabric veil covered by four or five coats of clear gel coat and then power waxed. I have gold-stranded batik fabric inlaid on the main hull and ama of my Huki outrigger canoe.
Interesting. I know the sane solution for old canoes is a marine paint. I've wondered if my old FG Explorer could be painted with the automotive paint used for flexible parts like bumper covers.
The problem is the work involved doesn't fit the outcome. Paint+time for an heavy old boat doesn't make sense.
But it would be fun to have a canoe with metal flake like a 1990's bass boat.
