Hi folks, just wondering if anyone has any experience with a Rheaume Muskoka? I have one on layaway at Oak Orchard Canoe and hope to pick it up soon. Paddled one on the little test pond with my spouse of 52 years and we both were quite taken with it. It is an asymmetrical 16 footer and seems perfect for flatwater paddling. The one we are getting is Kevlar with wood gunwhales, deep dish yoke, and a kneeling thwart. It is red in accordance with the canoe gods' preferred color for classic canoes : ) Anyhow, just wondering if anyone on the forum owns one? Thanks, Dan

There are a few posts on the site about Rhéaume and a boat maker but nothing specific about the Muskoka model.

From the posts I read they have a reputation for quality boats at relatively low prices for low weight boats. The company originally made wood/canvas boats, they got into the composite business more "recently".

One thing I noticed about the Muskoka is that it's an asymmetrical design which could mean that the sliding seat option they offer could be helpful if you plan to paddle solo with any frequency.
