What a wonderful repurposing idea.
I have read that there is no market for used pianos, from can’t-even-give-them-away to having to pay someone to haul them off. Various reasons, they are heavy as heck to move, take up a lot of room and it’s harder to keep old ones tuned and in repair.
Reputable piano makers were picky about the quality of woods they chose, ebony, mahogony, spruce and more exotic stuff. Could be a source of free quality wood for strip builders.
