I'm selling a lovely Old Town Penobscot with wood gunnels and brass end-caps and screws. The boat has a third seat installed either for solo use or for a kid between two adults. It's a 1999 according to the HIN, in very good shape considering its age, but it has been used some (though not abused - see pics). I bought it off the original owner last fall, but I'm not getting enough use out of it and need to free up room in my garage (too many boats!). It's too nice a boat to sit gathering dust. Would be great for a family - the Penobscot has a strong following as both a stable family boat and a speedy boat considering its length, both for down-river moving water and lakes. Some folks also swear by it as a solo tripping boat. The hull is Rolayex, which of course isn't made any more and is much lighter than the current plastic Discovery canoes offered by Old Town.
I'm planning on taking the boat to the W Pa Solo Canoe Rendezvous this weekend if anyone will be there and wants to check it out in person. Asking $800.
