New desecration

I've never felt the need to use any more than two screws to secure each foot peg track to the hull, don't recall any yak, pack boat or canoe manufacturer to use three screws either. Seems that nut would catch on things, maybe turn it around to the inside?

The inside is recessed for a flat head bolt so the pedals will pass over it.

I had to get these pedals on in a hurry for vacation. Now I’ve redone them with some more low profile hardware. I also added some Gflex in the steel washer divots to beef up the attachment points.

For the center hole, I used 1/4” large cap rivets, which allow the pedals to pass. The end bolts are flanged button head bolts.

The OD green mica I used in the Gflex was too light, so I planned to spray paint them, but vinyl spray paint seems to have gone away. That’s alright. It’s not a beauty contest. Hope we get some decent water levels on the river soon to test it out.
