Local info on routes from Oroville-Osoyoos Border Crossing to Bowron Lakes?

First time for me coming up soon. Of course Google gives me the shortest route. Can someone tell me what is the easiest route?

Google usually does a good job. The BC highways are good but after leaving Osoyoos, if you head north toward Kelowna, you'll hit more traffic. The drive is well worth what is in store for you at the end!

Google wants me to take 3 from Osoyoos to Princeton and then 5a north from there. That's shorter and avoids the Kelowna traffic, but is it good road?

That's the route I would take but as to the road, I would guess it is as good as all the others in that area. I am only familiar with roads after Merritt and they are fine.
