So this showed up in the mail today, a gift from a friend, used but in really good condition and razor sharp(the guy compete in the planing contest at Kez Japan) I read about these knifes d always thought it would be nice to have one.... now I do!! Fallkniven F1 laminated VG10 steel!! It is a left handed sheath but I might make a new sheath for it... maybe it will find its way into a new moose this fall!!

Very nice! A real working tool. I've read many good things about VG-10 blades. Too bad it's a left handed knife. (lol)

I have heard nothing but good things about these Swedish knives. Appears to be the perfect size, with minimal guard, let us know how it works out for you. If you don't like it, you can always put in the next fund raising drawing. I prefer natural materials for knife handles like birch bark, burled figured wood, bone, horn or antler, but that is just one my personal proclivities. A nice deep leather dangler sheath would be the cat's meow. I always wear my fixed blade sheaths on my left side, then use a cross draw with my dominate hand while steadying the sheath with my left hand. I usually have a folder of some type in a leather sheath on my right hip and a smaller 2-3 blade jack knife in right front pants pocket.
I have long thought that I should try to get a Fallkniven blade, then add my own handle. Right now I'm still packing the Marbles Woodcraft Pat'd 1916, that I got from Boatman53 and the kindness of Holmes375, Thank you both.

It looks like a great knife. I don't think I have any knives of that quality but the ones I have are decades old and it sure looks like they're going to outlast me.

Great looking knife. I also like wearing one sheath knife and one folding knife that clips to the inside of my pocket.

I usually have a small folder in my pocket. My favorite one these days is this Japanese folder!! Super good quality steel and affordable!! One hand operation! Light slim sharp!!
