Saw a possible boat, waiting in verification of age.
Yes, it’s Kevlar that they used spray paint inside and out for a crappy camo job, runs included. Not solid but bad enough, though some areas of original yellow show perfect.
Ideas to remove it besides sanding?
I did write to the manufacturer for their ideas. Worst outcome would be sand level, full repaint of

You could try acetone but for paint covering an entire hull I'd be inclined to leave it because it sounds like a lot of work and I don't think it would bother me too much.

I once bought a Jensen 16' solo downriver racing canoe locally that someone had painted camo. For some odd reason they thought it would be a good duck boat but after capsizing the first time they tried paddling it it got stored in a barn for 15 years or so. It looked terrible and there was a huge fiberglass patch on the side with oozed resin runs.

This is the only interesting canoe I've ever seen for sale within an hour of my house (this one was actually in town) and I almost fainted with shock when I saw it. I probably wouldn't have even gone to look at but the fact that they said they tipped it over immediately piqued my interest.

Anyway, I paddled that ugly duckling for a few pleasurable years before selling it for more than I'd paid.
