This is a fall foliage day trip on the north end of Candlewood Lake, which is the largest lake in Connecticut (a reservoir). The north end has long arms, islands, forested hills, and is relatively unpopulated. The trip will start at the beach parking lot of the Sherman Town Park (74 Sawmill Rd, Sherman, CT 06784), and end at the beach parking lot of the New Milford Town Park known as Lynn Deming Park (134 Candlewood Lake Rd North, New Milford, CT 06776).
This is the upper left to the upper right corner on this map:

We will meet at the the Sherman Town Park at 9 am, so we can run a shuttle to leave a car or two at Lynn Deming Park. I'll know what kind of shuttle we'll be running once I have people committed and know whether they are solo or tandem. For safety, we will hug the shore down the Sherman arm and up the New Milford arm, and travel at a leisurely pace. I expect the trip to take 5 or 6 hours.
I am leaving the date open as between Saturday the 18th or Sunday the 19th until I get some commitment feedback and close-in weather reports.
Anyone can come. Invite other paddlers if you wish. I will also DM the NW CT roll call group about this trip.
