Hot Tent Suggestions?

With a small (stainless steel?) stove and a morning fire, about how long does it take for the stove to cool enough that it can be packed?

I mean, I realize that it would depend upon how many coals are piled up in it but on a portage trip, is it best to skip the morning warm-up so you can get moving & use the stove in the evening for a warm-up or is the morning fire likely to be a minimal delay?
I've also wondered about this. I assume in the right conditions you can plot the stove in the snow to cool, but obviously there isn't always snow, plus I am sure that causes a good amount of metal fatigue over time...

We usually carry a pair of welding gloves to move the warm stove. Tie back the tent doors, Pull off he stove pipe and carry the stove out and away from the tent. Empty the hot coals from the stove and maybe use them to build a fire that you can use to warm up during the take down process. We set the stove on a couple of longs to cool down without contacting the snow, same for the stove pipe. We then take the tent down as the stove cools. Stove is last to be packed on the toboggan
