Good day, after 4 months post knee replacement, I wanted to ask if a foot brace and lowered seat with a Cush Backsaver is a enjoyable setup in a Hemlock Peregrine canoe? I have a Swift Shearwater, same setup. also what paddle style is generally recommended? Me, 6ft. 1" 215lbs. pre retirement fantasy thoughts?? Thank you, have a great week!

@Ravenwolf - I'm not as tall as you are (only 5' 8") but come pretty close to you in weight; about 10 lbs less. All of this is to say I have "Peregrine" and had a foot brace installed in it probably 6 or 7 years ago because I'm not a kneeler; bad knees. My core is still strong enough that I don't require the use of a back rest so I can't speak to that but honestly, I've enjoyed having the brace in the canoe.

Prior to this canoe, all my previous boats had a foot brace and I felt lost without one. Due to where it's mounted, it doesn't interfere with either gear or my dog lying down in the bow. Not sure how it will work for you but I do enjoy having it. Just my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth...

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.
