A tasty meal made with fresh ingredients that last up to a week with no refrigeration. Halloumi is a greek cheese that holds its shape when grilled, much like Saganaki. It is usually sold packed in its own brine in a vacuum-sealed package, which makes it easy to transport.
Yum yum, enjoy.

We use a bit of it at home and on trips... Good stuff... Quite salty but yummy!

Great stuff. If you want a little more crazy flavour you can drizzle the cheese with Greek Ouzo (or Turkish Raki) for that extra bit of flavour - sort of like salty and sweet at the same time. My relatives showed me that, but of course you have to appreciate the aniseed flavour in the first place. Not for everyone.

In Canada this is sold in Superstore under the PC Brand as Halloom. Took us a while to find it. It is not quite as good as the genuine Greek stuff but waaay cheaper. We love to just fry chunks with sun-dried tomatoes and olive oil then toss it into pasta.
