Has any one tried using Gpsfiledepot maps with Garmin base camp? Have a nuvi 765T that was bought used and cheep today to try this with. In the past the only tech I have used to navigate while canoeing has been radio towers. They are easily seen over trees in open areas and can be used as landmarks. So using a GPS for canoeing and trails is all new to me.

Can't say anything about your unit. I have only used GPSfiledepot maps with my Dakota and Oregon..both handhelds with a marine and hiking setting.. Dont know a thing about the Nuvi.
As a matter of fact I use the Florida topo from that site exclusively in Florida and find its pretty good..even has the Everglades campsites in the right spots.
