Difficulty getting Bell Yellowstone Solo to track straight

I teach my guide class students that they must learn to anticipate one or two strokes ahead of any correction stroke needed. Small corrections during the next two power strokes may be enough to eliminate a large sloppy correction. Try to set up the proper approach angle of the canoe before entering an upcoming turn.

Finally, focus on paddling straight before learning how to make radical turn strokes. If you can paddle a canoe straight using single blade strokes on one side, then you automatically already know how to make it turn efficiently and effectively.

The thing that helped me the most is to follow an accomplished paddler and watch what they do while they explain, then have them follow me and evaluate my stroke. I agree books help little, vidios a little more.
