Canoeing Plans for 2026?

Hitting the ontario south rivers this weekend and next Salmon Lower and Upper near Napanee Ontario half way between Toronto and Kingston. Then onto Skootamata and beaver and lower black near Marmora MACKFEST, then onto Moira near Belleville. Lower and Middle madawaska May and June. Dumoine Quebec in July. All trips are WCA sponsored Wilderness Canoe Association.

Wow, very interesting. You moving down there permanently? Just did a MapQuest thing, it's around a 32 hour drive from G Town. Maybe some day!

Who knows. The original plan was to use it as a getaway for 5-10 years and then think about making a permanent move. But now it's the shiny new toy and it's hard not to just chuck everything and move down there. I just got back from spending 1 1/2 weeks down there getting the house habitable and ready. One big hurdle would be finding a good job. The closest town is 40 minutes away.

If you ever get this down that way I'd love to show you around. A really remarkable part of the world. It's certainly not what most people think of when they think of the desert. Very diverse in terms of wildlife and landscape.

I love New Mexico. Did a lot of work there in 1990s through 2010s. My retirement plan was summer in Ely and winter in NM. My wife had other plans.

The culture and history of NM, the variety of mountains to desert, all wonderful.
