At the moment I'm doing a repair replanking a 19' lapsrake boat using white cedar. It's a big job and generates a fair amount of waste and I just thought last night that my cut offs could be milled up for canoe ribs, or planking stock. I'm not interested in going into the canoe parts business but if you have a wood and canvas canoe the needs a bit of wood let me know what your needs are and I'll see what I can do. I just want to find a good use for this wood, not looking to make money just a bit over postage. If you want to come to my shop I probably have enough to build a small canoe you can have it. The rough stock is air dried, a full 5/4" thickness, random shapes as they are trimmings from getting out the planks I needed.
Thanks Jim
