I have a nice (probably) ash Old Town paddle. I bought it, with another I'm keeping, off Craigslist - the guy I bought them from found them at an estate sale or something so no info on provenance. I posted about restoring the grips on the WCHA forum when I got it, and Benson Gray guessed that it was likely ash and post-1987.

This blade is a little too wide for my taste, and I have enough paddles in the quiver that I really enjoy that I think this should be sent to a new home that will appreciate it. I touched up the varnish in a couple places, mostly around the tip for extra protection (quality satin marine spar varnish; I prob should have used glossy), and oiled the grip (quality tung oil), which had long been dried out and gray when I got it. Has been out on the water several times and is ready for more service immediately.
Dimensions 59.5" total length, blade 6.75" x approx 25" (depending on where you say the blade stops and shaft starts). 31oz. Asking $100.

Also for sale is a matching pair of paddles that came with a used boat I got. They seem like a light hardwood, perhaps basswood, poplar or similar. They had some kind of coating at the bottom that seems to be wearing off. One paddle has a significant split it in. My plan was to strip down, repair, and re-finish, but these are also wider than I like, so I'll offer them up as a project. One could perhaps be used as it, but at the risk of wetting the wood interior from a few scratches in the finish.
Dimensions 57" total length, blade 7.5" x approx 25" (depending on where you say the blade stops and shaft starts). 21oz. Asking $75 for the pair.

These are currently for sale local to the Rhinebeck/Kingston, NY area, and I will bring them with me to the WCHA/ACS gathering, to which I'll be arriving mid-day Thurs. If they don't sell there, I will entertain shipping if the buyer pays. I have plenty of paddle shipping packaging for safe transit should the need arise.

Happy to provide additional pics on request.
