Was just reading on another forum about some sawyers looking for a market. It's about 25% lighter than cedar and grown in the eastern US (not native). Sounds like there was a lot of interest a few years back and a lot of people planted it. A fair number of the trees didn't survive and the market kind of dried up. Some people seem to have found markets to sell but many haven't. I have no idea what it's selling for but some of you east coasters might be able to get a good deal if you can find a local mill that has some available.

As an Invasive species, you might get in trouble, bring it into Iowa. And Canada !

As being described as the Other Balsa, it might make a great substitute for a Foam core. I know !!
