I am heading to the Allagash in a couple of weeks. Has anyone used the supposed carry trail next to Indian Stream? If there is a trail, I would like to use it rather than drag my new Esquif down the stream (which will likely be pretty low).

It's there, a few hundred feet past the gate on the right. It's an easy carry for gear, never carried a boat down it. The mouth of the stream at eagle lake will be a push through muck till you get to open water.
You might need / want to take out at Michaud farm instead of allagash village. There will be some dragging if this dry weather continues.
