That top one scares me! Keep seeing that lovely boat get blown into the river. I note the woodsman's habit of long pants and pants tucked in in the gentleman with the spruce boughs.
I can recall canoeists and backwoods types wearing the traditional high top moccasins and wool socks wit pants tucked in to keep out bugs.

You can still find a few traditional makers of the double thick sole moose hide moccasins, but they are not cheap. Understandable given the time and materials.
