I just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have answered my many questions as I strive to learn canoeing and canoe camping. I also want to thank Robin for giving me a place that I could do so. Through all of your help I was able to safely complete my first primitive canoe camping trip...
Very nice! I didn't realize there were six photos in your first post, I'm glad I clicked the link.
That looks like it works well for you.
I'll say it again - lot's of talented folks on this site.
Thanks Mama! I'm pleased to report mine and my Sweetheart's worked OK for trip. I did step too seep once and got water inside - all my fault.
Other times I was moist or damp inside them but I don't know if that was water seeping in or perspiration. They worked well for this time of year when...
I have a jacket and vest with Primaloft Insulation and both pack down very small and are pretty warm for their weight. Many companies use it; Simms and LL Bean are two I know off the top of my head.
Thanks for sharing. The BWCA is on my to do list - I hope to get there in a couple of years.
I like the photos.
How do you like the NEOS Trekkers? I picked up a pair and haven't tried them yet.
Okay Mike, I whipped up a quick and dirty folding coroplast sign tabletop. I'll post photos in a week or so after field testing :-)
Thanks again for the idea.

Nice work shown in the photos and excellent descriptions of the methods used.
Thanks guys!
Hah! I love the table top, that's great.
I had to google shower curtain hook - I've had shower surrounds for too long I guess. I agree, that's a nice deep hook style.

The canoe looks great...
So many great suggestions. I like them all. Thanks to all of you.
I figured if I remove the barrel from the pack I'll keep the pack itself clean and food odor free. I can't stand the thought of vermin chewing up my new pack so I'll take the extra precaution.
I did read about the cotter pin...
I just picked up 30L and a pack/harness to carry it with and I'm looking for best use suggestions. I also ordered some barrel organizing bags to split up breakfast, lunch and dinner meals inside of it.
My plan is to take the barrel out of the pack and stash it each night after making sure it's...
