    Any thoughts on drysuits?

I'm not an expert but here's my take. I like socks on a dry suit. I don't understand the use case for a semi-dry suit. Either the water/air are cold enough to warrant a dry suit or they aren't. My personal opinion is it's just a way to have a lower price point than a full dry suit. If you...

None of the flaws you see will be noticed by others and won't matter when you are out paddling it. Trust me.

Seeking advice on super wide water shoes

I have worn fleece socks. They get wet but dry quickly. In cold weather, the Kokatat Launch Socks with any regular wool sock beneath is a great combo. https://www.canoetripping.net/threads/kokatat-launch-socks-review.127585/

Seeking advice on super wide water shoes

I wear a similar sandal/water shoe. The grit/rocks getting between the bands and the feet is an issue but is easily solved by wearing a sock.

Seeking advice on super wide water shoes

Good luck. Even at a mere 3E width, I have trouble finding any purpose-made water shoes that will fit me. My go to solutions currently include (1) sized-up, cheap rubber rain boots (Servus brand) , (2) sandals with Kokatat Launch socks or (3) stretchy neoprene booties. Let us know if you...

    Trucker's hitch variations.

The REI video @Mason linked to is how I used to do it. But as @Sweetfancymoses suggests, I sometimes found that the slip knot didn't release easily, especially when I really cranked some tension into the trucker's hitch.. So now when I create the loop for the slip knot, I add an extra twist of...
