    You can buy nylon spacers in various diameters and lengths from most hardware stores and big box stores. I don’t know how the seat is attached so it is able to adjust but maybe those spacers could help. Jim

    Unless you have some magical window for recoating I always sand but to prep for the last coat assuming no dust or runs to deal with I give it good rubdown with a maroon scotchbrite pad.
