I recently rediscovered Hap Wilson. I have his book Temagami Canoe Routes which I purchased in the 80s. He is a very interesting person who's not well known in the US except by wilderness paddlers. Just recently discovered he and his wife own a paddle-in canoe lodge in the Temagami region.

Does anyone know if he ever appears at canoe symposiums in Canada or the US ?

I've seen him on Instagram with a book-signing table set up across from Kevin Callan so I know he does them. (I think that one was at Freezing Woman in Algonquin a few weeks ago)

I looked on his website and he doesn't have a schedule posted.

It's still too early to see a release of guest speakers at the Outdoor Adventure Show (Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and Montreal).
The Temagami Canoe Festival likewise might be another place, but they don't seem to update their website.

Ecolodge. I might look at a mid-February trip for a little snowshoeing. Haven’t seen him in the states in recent memory. He’s a good writer. I’ve got a few of his books. His Manitoba book is the best river guidebook I’ve seen. The fictionalized book Dance of the Deadmen is a great read.

Appreciate your suggestions! I am always up for a good naure/wildlife story, actually books as well as online.
