To buy or not to buy—Swift Prospector 14 expedition Kevlar

I have both the Nova 15' prospector and the esquif. Like them both. Nova Craft has higher gunwales than the Esquif. both weigh almost the same, as rubbaboo stated. I run them both solo.

Anyone Have a Esquif Prospecteur Sport?

Well, I still have 2 Old town Trippers in Royalex, but I consider them retired. Currently I am running a Swift Cruiser 14.8 in expedition kevlar, a Nova Craft Prospector 15 in Tuff Stuff Expedition, and the aforementioned Esquif Prospector.

    Swift Cruisers Anyone

I have a cruiser 14.8 Last season was my first. Definitely not for moving water. Lakes and slowmoving water are where this boat shines. I like it. fast. Swift seats are very comfortable. I am geared for 5 days in these pictures. (Ambajesus lake, Maine)

    FIshing pack boat with speed

I was referring to my cruiser 14.8. it's lack of any significant rocker, narrow beam, and relatively shallow gunwales are what prompted me to comment that it is best suited for flatwater. I have, and like best, 15' prospectors for moving water. lots of rocker, and much higher gunwales, and...

Blue barrel - what sizes do you use?

I reall like my granite gear barrel harnesses. Pictures shown on both 30 and 60 liter barrels. (I also really like my NC prospector 15, set up for solo)

Anyone Have a Esquif Prospecteur Sport?

One more thing, unless you are focused on, or paddle exclusively in moving water, I'd go for the regular prospecteur, not the sport.

Anyone Have a Esquif Prospecteur Sport?

I have an Esquif prospector. same thing as the sport, with the difference being the sport has a bit more rocker. T-formex seems to be a fine substitute for Royalex. Good canoe for the money. I use it as a guest/loaner canoe (symmetrical design allows for paddling stern-first solo) or for the...
