    Eagle vs loons

I live near a bird sanctuary for ducks and geese. The eagles know this. They just sit there on the ice, surrounding the ducks all winter. Since the birds were protected and are no longer molested, I haven't seen so many bald eagles. Here is one outside my back door the other day...

Interest check - Cottage lot in Manitoba

Sounds cool. Mihun09, let me know if you have any more questions. I have a bunch of stuff out there also that will be thrown in if someone eventually takes it. Inflatable kayak and paddle. Tool box full of tools. Lumber, joist hangers stuff like that. Most of it has been exposed to weather...

Interest check - Cottage lot in Manitoba

You are near Lake Winnipeg. Which is huge, lol. Not on the waterfront, but just a two minute walk. Waterfront property was damaged from ice jams a couple years ago. I myself have always preferred to back in the bush a bit. There are beaches and a boat launch. You do have neighbours. Lots are...

Interest check - Cottage lot in Manitoba

It is just the rules because it is in a Provincial Park. I can sell it publicly, just not until it is finished.

Interest check - Cottage lot in Manitoba

That's actually the other option, keep it and use it. Let other folks use it if they want. But just due to circumstance, I am keeping the selling it option open. I like peace of mind, and not having this nag at me would be nice. I can't actually list it for sale because technically I am not...

Interest check - Cottage lot in Manitoba

I have a cottage lot in Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park. I recently moved out of province and I am thinking of selling it. It is on the Grindstone side. 100' x 150' I have $12,000 put into it, looking for $10,000. I currently have the lot partially cleared, just enough for a the cabin...

If you were screening people for a canoe trip what would be a deal breaker.

I wouldn't be able to go with someone who is into their electronic mobile devices. GPS excluded of course. No drunkards. No loud people. You have to be able to just sit and enjoy. Basically mellow people. I had one of my best friends asked about going with me, I just laughed and said not a...

    Lightweight Solo Tripping

I couldn't agree more. I only carried liquid fuel once. That wasn't a solo trip and it was my very first backcountry canoe trip at age 13. I will not be doing it again.

    Sweet father-daughter story

You truly learn what you are capable of when going on a backcountry trip for the first time. Nice story.

    buying used

Well there may be people on this forum that have experience with this. Or there may be members that are lawyers, police officers or even law makers themselves. I wouldn't say this forum isn't the right or wrong place. There may be other more informative places, but still doesn't hurt to chit...
