Why am I the only one in a Canoe?

On a side note, you have your location as Saranac Lake and I love it there. My wife and I have been there twice for vacation. I should be heading up that way this summer to pick up my next canoe and I'm very much looking forward to it.

A GRB Classic. I have a Northstar Trillium and I wanted something that's better for bigger water. I haven't got a date yet for when it will be done, other than the ambiguous "mid-summer," but I'll let you know.

Classic or Classic XL?
Interesting perspective. I wouldn't consider a Trillium to be a big water solo but to me the Classic isn't either, not without a spray deck.

Exactly.
And what do you do with the 240cm (and longer) double when you switch to the single?

Added: I'm interested in what double-blade paddlers have to say. I haven't canoed with anyone that swapped out paddles; the single blade was there more as a spare.

I used to sometimes carry a double as my spare, with the idea that it would be helpful in wind - which it was until my single blade skill increased. At some point, it became pointless. If I used it all the time maybe it would work better, but as my single blade skill increased I realized I was just as fast or faster with one blade. And the single is less tiring for me.

I kept it in two pieces until I wanted to use it, knowing at the time that if one end or the other got dropped in the water it was probably going to sink. So it was actually like carrying two spare paddles instead of one.
