Here's my write up so far on fixing the Goober Boat, an 89' Mohawk Blazer in Kevlar. It has some very interesting patches from the past! If it was my boat I'd paint some stitches on the them before I covered them with resin!

I'm thinking I will be done patching it today and maybe Monday I'll be able to take it out for a test spin to make sure it doesn't leak.

Interesting - looks like you've done some clean patchwork.

That canoe was lucky to find you.

Doug, I’ve had it up to here with you finding all these canoes to work on up there in canoe country; kevlar Blazers, Stowe Mansfields and freaking carbon fiber Stowe/Adirondack Prospectors.

Seriously, you should write up a list - at least the make/model/year - of your rebuilds for your own records before you forget.

After six months of searching Craigslist sites from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and I haven’t found squat.

Umm, or hadn’t. It’s drying in the yard after a detail washing.

And it isn’t all busted to heck and fugly patched, so there. PHHHBBBTTTT!

BTW – The original patch job on Goober may be the ugliest fix I’ve ever seen. I think that canoe has found its rebuild moniker.

Move. Or would you prefer a house fire?

And give up all this – humidity like living in God’s own armpit, a location in the middle of the east coast megalopolis, constant power outages, locust trees falling and crushing my cars and an unplowable driveway I can’t get up for weeks at a time in the winter?

Whatever for?
