I've been wanting to go do the Bowron Circuit for over six years. Things conspired against that plan early on, as this thread marked historically. That was followed by unrelated health and family issues that took some time to resolve. While I'm not at my pre-covid level of fitness, I'm back in reasonably good condition. So it's time to get after some trips on my list.

I now have reservations made for Bowron this coming September. Hopefully, nothing will stop me this time. Only question now is deciding which canoe I will take. I'm leaning heavily toward the Solitude.

Anyway - now I just gotta not hurt myself between now and then. 🙏

Good Luck. The WCPP trip I did last September was originally booked for 2020. Hope it all works out for you as it did for me.

Regarding hurting yourself: I went over on my ankle 10 days before we left the UK. I spent those days on the settee with my foot raised unless I had to be on my feet. In the end the ankle was ok for all the portages but there was no way I could get comfortable kneeling so for the first time ever I had to sit while paddling. Not the end of the world but it was a pain!

Good luck. I lost a couple years to Covid. Was all set up to do the upper Liard when Covid hit. It was tough to let that go, even though I had no choice since all the traveling was shut down.

I did the Bowron some 20 years ago in a Solitude and it worked out fine. It was a bit faster than the Packer I now own but heavier. If you don't have a cart you can rent one at Bowron Lodge or buy a nice light weight one from Suspenz online. Sometimes they have returns which is a good deal as usually they are almost brand new. Make sure you get the Bowron Lake provincial park map by Backroad Adventure. The one the park issues is small and not waterproof. If my health allows, I might give the Bowron another shot about the time you are going.
