Over a year ago I bought a Miramichi 18.
I've only had it out of my garage once. It's just too big and heavy for me to handle by myself.
Even on the water it's a bit much.
Esquif has come out with a new model, the Huron 17, made out of T-Formex lite.
Basically, they took their Prospecteur 17 and put it on a diet.
Lighter T-Formex layup, lower gunnels, lighter wooden parts, fewer rivets.
They are claiming 59 pounds.
Might not be quite as good as the Prospecteur 17, for serious whitewater, but the lower weight and windage might be a good trade.

Main question will be to me..did.they find de balance in saving weight Without adding to much flex..
Next question is there a need of a boat on that weight- price range ..or is getting an upgrade to a composite that is lighter and stiffer to close for big sales.
