I have to stop watching FB marketplace. Picked up this 95 Wenonah tuffweave canoe for $70. It has had a hard life but I figure with some elbow grease and some S-glass I can make it float once again. I have plenty of GFlex and medium set US Composite epoxy. On the bow/stern there are cracks and there is some softness but there is no inner repair because the damage is over the float tanks. On the bottom of the canoe the outer layer has just been ground away in the middle. I could not find any soft spots on the inside so that is a plus. The seat frames are solid but the cane is gone and the wood thwart has rotted away on one end. I figure I can replace the thwart with my patented 2x6 piece of pine for a bench seat because there are aluminum hangers that the thwart sat on and that will be my solo paddle station. That is what I did with my OT camper.

My plan is to drill the end of the bigger cracks, sand the cracks open somewhat, use Gflex to fill the cracks, cover the large cracks with thin strips S-glass/epoxy and finally place a large patch over the whole area. The outer layer on the bottom will get epoxy since it had no soft spots. Once done the boat will get black spray paint to cover up the epoxy. I just need to order up some S-glass and get the paperwork for a bonded registration sent off. I figure for around $200 I will have a usable boat.
